Project overview
It started with a set of plans that just didn’t make sense - over budget, overbuilt, and disconnected from what the homeowners actually needed. Like a lot of clients we meet, they weren’t short on vision… they just needed the right team to bring it to life in a way that worked.
We stepped in initially to rebid the project, but it quickly became clear the better path was starting fresh. Our team reworked the design from the ground up - reshaping the layout, expanding the footprint, and creating a more intentional flow between spaces. The kitchen became the heart of the home, transformed into a large-scale, chef-style space built for both everyday living and gathering, while the new primary suite addition brought a sense of retreat and functionality that wasn’t there before.
Along the way, the scope evolved - as it often does in homes with this much personality. From secondhand finds to added features like a back deck, built-ins, and fireplace restoration, the project grew in real time. It took a strong collaboration between our project management and design teams to stay flexible, integrate those pieces thoughtfully, and keep everything aligned with budget and vision.
In the end, this home feels exactly how it should - layered, historic, and full of character. Not forced. Not overdesigned. Just a Fort Worth home brought back to life in a way that feels personal to the people living in it.
