What it costs
What Design in a Day costs: one flat price
$500
a flat fee — one focused sitting with a designer and a written plan you keep.
That is a fixed price for a Design in a Day session, not an estimate — you know the number before you book, and it does not move. Construction is quoted separately and on cost-plus, so if the plan turns into a project you see the real materials, labor and subcontractor costs rather than a lump sum with the margin buried inside it.
What the fee covers
- Nothing. It is a flat fee, and that is the point of it — a way to get a real designer's plan without commissioning a project first.
- What you do with the plan afterward is yours. Build it with us, build it with someone else, or hold it until the year makes sense.
- It is priced separately from construction and is not measured against our construction minimum.
- How long it takes
- about 2 weeks from booking to the plan in your hands

What exactly is Design in a Day?

So it isn’t a whole day?
It’s one focused three-hour session, and then the written plan lands within a week. It saves you the days you’d otherwise spend second-guessing the paint.
What do I actually get?
A clear, executable plan document: color recommendations, finish and material direction, layout guidance, and where to find the pieces — enough to confidently tackle the project yourself.
How much does Design in a Day cost?
It’s a flat, productized package — one price agreed up front, with no open-ended retainer and no hourly meter running. Ask us for the current number when you book and you’ll have it before you commit to anything.
How fast do I get the deliverable?
Within a week of the consultation, usually sooner.
Do I have to hire 6th Ave Homes to do the work?
No. The plan is yours to run however you like, with whoever you like.
Do you offer it remotely?
Yes — because design direction travels, we run Design in a Day for clients beyond our construction radius.
What rooms work best?
Any room you’re stuck on — a living room, primary bedroom, a kitchen’s color-and-finish direction, or a first floor that doesn’t flow.
How is this different from full-service interior design?
Design in a Day is advice and a plan; our Custom Design Packages and Furniture Selections & Styling are full-service, where we source, procure, install, and style for you. Start here; upgrade if you want us to run it.
Can it guide a remodel?
Yes — it’s a great low-cost way to lock your selections and direction before a remodel, or to refresh a room without construction.
