You don’t need a full design retainer to stop second-guessing your paint, your tile, and your layout. Design in a Day is one focused 3-hour session with a 6th Ave Homes interior designer. Within a week you get the written plan: colors, finishes, layout, and where to find the pieces.
How it actually works

A working consultation in the room you’re stuck on. Paint, tile, finishes, furniture placement, how the square footage should actually be used — the questions you’ve been circling for months, answered by somebody who does this every day.
Step 01
A week or less
Then it arrives in writing
You don’t walk out holding a vague memory of what was said. A written deliverable follows — the colors, the finishes, the layout direction and the product recommendations, set down so you can act on them at your own pace.

Who you sit with
Two people, and you meet them at the table
Not a rotating bench and not whoever is free that week. Our interior design practice is small on purpose, which is the only reason three hours is long enough.
The deliverable
You leave with a document, not a feeling
A conversation about paint evaporates by the weekend. A written plan is still there in six months, when you’ve finally got a free Saturday and the nerve.
Specific paint colors
Named and coded, not “something warm.” The difference between a recommendation and an opinion is that you can go buy a recommendation.
Finish and material direction
Tile, stone, hardware, and how they sit together — with the layout drawn where the layout is the whole question.
How the room should be used
Space planning for the square footage you already have. Most rooms that feel too small are laid out wrong, not built wrong.
Where to actually find it
Product recommendations you can source yourself, so the plan is executable the day it lands rather than dependent on us.

This is a small service, on purpose
It solves one specific problem well. Telling you now which side of the line you’re on is cheaper for both of us than telling you three hours in.

Design in a Day is a productized package, not a retainer and not an hourly arrangement. There’s no meter running while you think about a tile, and there’s no monthly minimum after the plan lands. You agree one number up front, and that’s the number.

What exactly is Design in a Day?

Do I have to hire 6th Ave Homes to do the work?
No. The plan is yours to run however you like, with whoever you like.
Do you offer it remotely?
Yes — because design direction travels, we run Design in a Day for clients beyond our construction radius.
What rooms work best?

How is this different from full-service interior design?
